Description
In 2016, in search of a simpler life, Scottish writer lain Maloney and his Japanese wife moved to a village in deepest rural Japan. Life in the countryside is a continuous cuture shock as Iain's attempts at amateur farming, basic gardening and DIY are conducted under the watchful eye of elderly neighbours - and his sceptical wife. Venomous snakes, rampaging wild boar, terrifying centipedes and bees the size of small birds stalk the land, and lain is far from competent in battle. It's not always easy being the only gaijin in the village.
