Description
Allison Stafford-Manchester, heiress to millions in old San Francisco money, is society window dressing for her polically ambitious and unfaithful husband. Nearing thirty and childless, her life has drifted into a mind numbing rut and she desperately needs something to make her heart beat with purpose again. Against her husband's wishes and her parent's misgivings, she and two friends embark on a journey into the Northwest Territory. But the trip ends in tragedy when the pontoon plane they charter crashes in a blinding snowstorm hundreds of miles off course. Broken, her auburn hair soaked with blood, Allison drags her friend from the smoking wreckage. Her only strength and protection is the adrenalin pumping through her veins. When Susan dies in her arms, she is the lone surivivor, barely clinging to life in the teeth of the storm. As darkness approaches, she is saved from certain death by an angry, blue eyed Irishman. The reluctant hero shouts his dog team into action as he races for the safety of his hand hewn cabin.
